Bus tickets were part of a collective memory of the older generation taking buses from the 70s - 90s. The tickets were printed with different values on the front to indicate the distance of designation, back printed with guidelines on taking the bus, sometimes there will be printed with Courtesy Campaign slogan and mascot.
Join the guided tour to understand how bus tickets were printed, understanding the printing process, letterpress printing and its history. Participants will get to listen to the curator of TYPESETTINGSG, Yao Yu on the 200 years of letterpress printing in Singapore, going through some of the printing heritage preserved by the studio and hands-on experience of how printing was done back in the old days.
At the end of the tour, participants will be able to print their own bus ticket, a punch on the ticket and prints of the vintage blocks from the studio collection.
