The workshop provides the student with an introduction to letterpress printing and basic typesetting. The student will learn the basics of typography, the anatomy of a type, and tools in a composing room. Students will learn typesetting in stages: layout, lockup, make-ready, ink & color, and packing. The student will also be introduced to the printing press and will be guided to operate the press. The student will print their own quote in letterpress metal types using the printing press.
The student will get to print a set of 15 cards of one design student design. Do think of a message or a quote that you would like to print.
工作坊给予参与者讲解活版印刷流程和排版基础。参与者可以学到排版的基础，字的结构和排版需要的工具。参与者也可以了解排版的不同阶段：设计，版锁, 垫版和颜料/色。参与者自己设计排版内容，捡铅字，排版，印制自己的卡片。
参与者可以印制15张相同设计的卡片，可以想一段或是几个英文字。
